It gets really crowded especially during the months of June to September on the weekends and even if you get an accommodation in malta you may still even have trouble enjoying the beach. This is good news for tourists and visitors as this means that they can eat in a fancy five star restaurant inside the Radisson Golden Sands and still enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches of Golden Bay. Although this beach isn’t as accessible as the first, it takes only a few minutes driving time from the maltese town of Mgarr to reach Golden Bay and the five star malta hotel. Villas make you feel like home

When traveling, many people don’t like the strange feeling of sleeping in hotels. Even the nicest rooms, don’t really make you feel relaxed as you would in the comfort of your own home. If you’re visiting an amazing location like Malta, you don’t want that feeling to ruin your experience. That’s one of the reasons why Malta Villas are best choice of the travelers coming to Malta.

These properties would make you feel like home because they are designed like homes with kitchens and bedrooms and all the other amenities you need. If you plan on staying in the area, you’ll want to look into this type of Malta accommodation.

Excellent for long or short stays

While a Malta villa is going to provide a relaxing backdrop for any vacation, they can also be a great choice if you’re planning to stay in the area for an extended period of time.

You certainly don’t want to end up in a hotel with no kitchen so you’ll have to eat your meals in restaurants all the time. Not only will that become expensive but you’ll miss the taste of home cooking quite quickly. If you plan to enjoy Malta for more than a couple of weeks, this is the only type of accommodation worth considering.

Everything included

Another benefit of checking into villas to let in Malta is that the rental price typically includes everything you’ll need during your stay. The properties are always fully furnished with tasteful décor that meets the standards of the area and of the guests.

Tignes Ski Resort

by admin on July 7, 2011 at 5:03 pm
Posted In: Malta Articles

Tignes is a famous ski resort in French Alps linked to Val D’Isere. Tignes comprises 5 Villages; Val Claret, Tignes le Lac, Le Lavachet, Tignes Les Boisses and Tignes-les-Brévières. The first three are close together at 2100m and Les Boisses and Les Brevieres are further down the valley, above and below the dam respectively. Les Brévières is an old village whereas all the others were created as part of the Dam construction or development of the ski resort. All villages are part of the ski resort known as Tignes.

After the loss of the old village it was decided to develop a ski resort at the higher lake (Le Lac). This was surrounded by a bowl that is ideal for skiing and is headed by the Grand Motte glacier. The resort was developed largely during the 1960s and the building style reflects what was regarded as good building design at that time. In recent years the town has worked hard to improve the look of the new villages with some success.

The lift company STGM are continually investing to improve the quality of lifts in the resort and queues are mostly avoided by the use of fast 6- or 8-person chairs. They have also invested over the past few years in snow making equipment to create good bases for the pistes even in the early season.

PLACE TO VISIT

The bleak architecture in the town has somewhat detracted from the atmosphere in the past, but the situation is now improving. Of course, the views of the Alps from the resort are spectacular. It is partly for this reason that Tignes is not only a winter resort for skiing, but a summer one for hiking, mountain biking , summer skiing on the glacier ; it has won the sporting town of france 2008

 WHAT TO DO

Winter Sports – Tignes is in the “Espace Killy” skiing area, which means that just one pass is needed for access to the slopes around Tignes, Val-Claret and Val D’Isere; for the 2006/7 season, a six-day pass will cost €180 (£135; $220).

The resort has some 2300km of pistes, of which 26km are served by snowmaking equipment. 15% are green, 46% blue, 27% red and 12% black. The resort is always renowned for the amount of snow it gets, though – a forecast of “rain up to 2000m” means snow to village level, i.e., fresh snow on all pistes.

Summer Sports – Mountain Biking with two of the main lifts in the resort open for hikers and mountain bikers you have the choice of 8 different marked routes to decend, with a difficulty ranging from easy to difficult, although this would not be a resort for complete beginner mountain bikers.

Hiking – The resort is also much suited to hiking; in summer, the snow at ground level has disappeared and the Sun can actually be quite pleasant.

Enjoy Your Own Space on the Piste at Tignes Ski Resort

by admin on July 7, 2011 at 4:44 pm
Posted In: Malta Articles

So much space available to skiers on the slopes, it might start to feel slightly crowded, but never jam-packed with people. So don’t worry, you will always be able to enjoy your own space on the piste. Hit the glacier for some off-season skiing Tignes, which came to prominence in the 1960s and still holds on to some nonconformist charm, is your best bet if you are looking for a place to serve as your base in the area. The nearby Grande Motte Glacier offers over 1,000 meters of vertical skiing nearly all year round (eight to nine months per year) and the landscape of the area is said to be somewhat smoother than elsewhere. This can also have drawbacks, however, as the resort can be more exposed to any slight change in weather conditions. New-look town with a retro feel While some say Tignes’s “retro” feel adds to its personality, the resort has its eyes firmly on the future and is striving to become a leading Alpine skiing destination. The town has been making improvements to make visitors’ stays as enjoyable as possible. In order to help ease the way for people to make their way from the eastern to the western slopes, for example, the Tignes-Le Lac Street was situated underground. Some of the town’s resorts have seen better days and renovations could be a help, but many of the hotels and buildings are getting makeovers, keeping the look of Tigris hip but with a throwback feel. The town has 20 hotels, fewer than 10 hotel residences, over 11 holiday centers, two holiday clubs, and nearly 75 private and leased-out apartments. Not just for skiers! Skiing is still the most popular recreational activity in Tignes, but snowboarding is gaining ground. With two half pipes, boarder crosses and quarter pipes, snowboarders will find plenty to keep them busy. Cross-country skiing is another option for the outdoors types; Tigres has over 20 kilometers of marked trails. From quiet village to party town Though many may believe differently, Tignes is bursting with après-ski options. The town has successfully shaken off its past image as a quiet resort and has added some body-shakin’ nightlife. Years ago in Tignes you could go out to just a few restaurants and bars, but today you will find packed bars, overflowing eateries, bumping discothèques and hot clubs. There is even a cinema playing the latest Hollywood blockbusters and a sports center where you can play squash, go swimming, do aerobics and use state-of-the-art exercise equipment. An activity for every taste If all this is just not enough, those more demanding guests can make full use of Tignes’s indoor skating rink and bowling alley, as well as its outdoor skate rink. You can also keep busy by playing basketball, climbing (ice, waterfalls and rock), heliskiing, ice diving, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and hang gliding. If shopping is your thing you should not miss Tignes’s more than 125 shops; and the town is also home to several banks, post offices, petrol stations, and even churches of different denominations, so you will have no problem finding a place to open a retirement account or go to confession. No matter what you are looking for in a ski resort destination, Tignes has what you are looking for!
