Ombudsman presents Case Notes 2025 to Speaker of the House of Representatives
The Parliamentary Ombudsman, Judge Emeritus Joseph Zammit McKeon, today presented the 45th edition of Case Notes 2025 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anġlu Farrugia.
This edition brings together a selection of 38 cases investigated and concluded during 2025 by the Office of the Ombudsman and the three Commissioners. The publication provides an overview of the work carried out in response to complaints and concerns raised by members of the public in relation to administrative action and the delivery of public services.
While thanking the Ombudsman and the Commissioners for their work and continued commitment to strengthening public trust in democratic institutions through careful investigation and principled recommendations, Speaker Farrugia referred to the continuing value of the Case Notes publication as an important instrument reflecting the practical role of the Ombudsman institution in promoting fairness, transparency, and good administration.
Speaker Farrugia concluded that such publications serve not only as a record of cases examined and conclusions reached, but also as a reminder of the duty of public authorities to act with responsibility, accountability, and respect towards citizens.
