Two suffer grievous injuries in separate Mosta and Pembroke crashes

Two people suffered grievous injuries in separate traffic accidents in Mosta and Pembroke on Sunday. Both were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

The first accident happened at about 11.30am in Independence Avenue, Mosta. Preliminary investigations found that a 65-year-old woman from Żebbuġ was hit by a Honda motorcycle ridden by a 33-year-old man from San Ġwann.

Later in the day, at around 4.45pm, another accident occurred in Sant’ Andrija Street, Pembroke. Police said the collision involved a Toyota Yaris Cross driven by a 35-year-old man from Mosta and a Benelli motorcycle ridden by a 27-year-old man from Msida.

A medical team was called to both scenes and the injured woman and motorcyclist were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Hospital authorities later certified both victims as having suffered grievous injuries. Police investigations into both accidents are ongoing.
