Woman hospitalised after construction material hits car in St Julian's

A 50-year-old woman from San Ġwann was rushed to the hospital on Friday morning after construction materials fell from a tower crane and struck her car.

The accident occurred on Birkirkara Road in St Julian’s while the woman was driving her Chevrolet Lacetti past an active construction site. The material crashed directly into her vehicle’s windscreen.

Police received the report at approximately 10.45am, though officials noted the accident likely happened earlier in the morning. The woman’s current medical condition remains unknown.

Both the police and the Occupational Health & Safety Authority (OHSA) have launched investigations into the incident.
