‘The most important thing is that Labour has won four elections in a row’ – Byron Camilleri

Labour Party candidate Byron Camilleri, who served as Home Affairs Minister in the last legislature, said he was pleased that voters had once again placed their trust in the Labour Party.

“I am satisfied that the people have trusted us again,” he said. “The fact that it is the first time a political party has won four elections in a row says a lot and I have nothing but joy and I thank the people who have trusted the Labour Party for this fourth election.”

Commenting on reports that the electoral margin had decreased, Camilleri said the most important factor was the party’s continued success across four consecutive elections.

“Regarding the difference in margin which has decreased, one has to see that although the gap has gone down, the Labour Party has still won four times, which nobody has ever done. That is the most important thing,” he said.

He added that he could not comment further on the margin, stating that official figures had not yet been released by the Labour Party.

“On the margin I cannot comment because as a Labour Party we have not yet released those figures.”
