Cyclist seriously injured in Żejtun collision

A 47-year-old man from Ħal Tarxien was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Żejtun earlier today.

The accident occurred at approximately 10.15am on Triq id-Daħla ta’ San Tumas.

According to initial reports from the Police, the collision involved a bicycle and a DAF vehicle driven by an 82-year-old man from Mqabba.

A medical team arrived on the scene to provide emergency assistance, and the cyclist was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as having sustained serious injuries.

Magistrate Dr Monica Vella LL.D has been informed of the case and has initiated a Magisterial Inquiry. Police investigations are ongoing.
