Man seriously injured after hit by bike

A man was seriously injured on Friday night when he was hit by a bike in Gzira, the police said.

The accident happened in Sliema Road at 11.45pm.

The pedestrian, a 37-year-old from Belarus and resident in Msida, was hit by a bike ridden by a 28-year-old man from Serbia, who lives in Birkirkara.

The Belarusian was taken to Mater Dei Hospital with serious injuries, while the biker received treatment for slight injuries in a health centre.
