Police searching for man in connection with attempted murder

An Italian man is wanted by police in connection with an alleged attempted murder which happened on Saturday night, the Malta Police Force said in a statement on Sunday.

Police said that their assistance was requested at 10pm in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq after a report of an attempted murder.

Investigations began immediately and the statement read that Police are mounting intensive searches for the alleged aggressor, 49-year-old Italian man Salvatore Di Prima.

Police said that anybody with information may contact the police, even anonymously, by calling 119 or 21224001 or by going to the nearest police station.

Police offered no further information on the case, citing the sensitivity of the investigations.
