Prime Minister Robert Abela, accompanied by Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela, has officially inaugurated the Hyatt Centric Malta hotel in St Julian’s, a government statement said.

Managed by the Maltese JUEL Group, the new hotel features 170 rooms and aims to provide world-class hospitality while encouraging visitors to explore Malta’s cultural heritage.

During the event, Abela highlighted that the opening reflects the country’s strong entrepreneurial spirit and serves as a symbol of confidence in Malta’s future. He noted that the project aligns with the evolution of the local tourism industry toward personalized and authentic experiences.

Abela also emphasised that the government will continue to ensure stability in the energy sector to support the uninterrupted operation of the aviation and tourism industries. Reflecting on recent positive reports from international credit rating agencies, the Prime Minister stated that these results are achieved through ongoing collaboration between the government and local business operators.

Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela echoed these sentiments, noting that the investment demonstrates confidence in Malta’s tourism sector and its human resources.

Adrian Muscat, a Director at JUEL Group, attributed the industry’s strengthening to recent government reforms in the tourism sector and expressed pride in the project, thanking Hyatt and all those who supported its development.
