Prime Minister visits creative teams behind Malta Vision 2050 immersive experience
Prime Minister Robert Abela on Friday visited the creative teams at the two local studios leading the development of the immersive experience for Malta Vision 2050.
“The immersive experience – a first of its kind in Malta – shall be housed in a purposely built art installation at the entry of Valletta. It will welcome locals of all ages alongside tourists who are interested to better understand the concept of Malta’s national foresight project for the next 25 years,” a government statement read.
“It is being designed as a fully integrated visual and narrative environment that brings Malta Vision 2050 to life through cinematic storytelling, advanced digital scenography, and carefully synchronised audio-visual elements. By combining large-scale projections, animated sequences and spatial sound design, the production transforms the physical venue into a dynamic canvas that evolves in real time.”
“During the visit, the Prime Minister was guided through the creative and technical workflow being executed by both teams, offering a comprehensive overview of how the experience is being assembled from concept to final output. Live demonstrations showcased the intricate process behind visual compositions, scene integration, and high-end rendering, alongside previews of key sequences that reflect the detail and ambition of the project,” it said.
At the forefront of the visual and cinematic development is Stargate Studios, a local film production studio, which is leading the creation and integration of the project’s animated sequences. The team is responsible for translating the overarching creative vision into high-end visual compositions that are technically precise and aligned with the narrative of the experience. Complementing the visual dimension is the original score and immersive soundscape being crafted by Elton Zarb and Kevin Abela. Their work includes composing the original score – from orchestral foundations and atmospheric textures to voice integration and dynamic transitions. Through acoustic spatial mixing and precise synchronisation with visual cues, they are creating an enveloping audio environment that heightens emotion and guides the audience through the chapters of the experience,” the government said.
The immersive experience shall be open to the public in the next weeks upon the official Malta Vision 2050 launch event that shall take place at Triton Square on February 27th.
