Supportline 179 marks 30 years of service

Malta’s national 24/7 helpline, Supportline 179, is marking 30 years since its establishment.

Operated by Appoġġ within the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, the service provides confidential emotional support, information and referrals.

Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon said the helpline has handled cases related to domestic violence, child abuse, mental health challenges, loneliness and substance abuse, and has helped save lives through timely professional assistance.

To complement the phone service, a live chat option has been introduced, offering written support for those who prefer not to speak.
