Two hospitalised after crash between car and motorcycle

Two people are receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital after the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a traffic accident on Sunday morning.

Police said in a statement that officers were informed of an accident at 10am on Sunday in Triq id-Daħla ta’ San Tumas in Marsaskala.

Preliminary investigations showed that a crash occurred between a Mitsubishi Pajero which was being driven by a 21-year-old man from Birkirkara and a Honda motorcycle which was being ridden by a 54-year-old from Marsaskala.

A 48-year-old woman, also from Marsaskala, was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle as well, police said.

The two who were on the motorcycle were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, and they were certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that investigations are ongoing.
