Worker at Central Bank Malta tests positive for COVID-19
An employee at the Central Bank of Malta tested positive for COVID-19 on 28 July, a statement from the Bank said.
“As soon as this information was reported to management at 18:46, the Bank took immediate action and carried out contract tracing within the Bank to establish which employees could have potentially been in contact with the employee who had tested positive.”
The statement said that all employees working in the department concerned were instructed to telework until further notice. “Other employees who had come into contact with the employee who had tested positive were also asked to telework. All these employees were asked to get tested for COVID-19.”
The bank contacted an infection prevention control specialist to disinfect the relevant premises. The operation was completed by 21:45 on 28 July. “The Bank reassures that all the necessary measures have been taken and will continue to be taken to ensure the well-being of all employees.”
