Sudanese prisoner escapes, later caught by police<\/p>\n
A Sudanese man who was being escorted by the police from the court of law to the prison escaped as soon as the vehicle transporting him stopped in front of the prison gate, the police said.<\/p>\n
Handcuffed, the man ran off as the police officers accompanying him gave chase. Aided by members of the Rapid Intervention Unit and district police, the prisoner, aged 28, was apprehended a few minutes later in Paola.<\/p>\n
The incident took place at around 12.30pm, the police said.<\/p>\n
