PN calls Grand Harbour Revival Plan \u2018another recycled promise\u2019<\/p>\n

The PN said that it took note of the consultation about the Grand Harbour Revival Plan<\/a>, but said that it is yet “another recycled promise by the Labour Government”.<\/p>\n

“The same plan was announced ahead of the 2013, 2017 and 2022 elections. It is now being reused once again as, coincidentally, another election draws closer.”<\/p>\n

Despite repeated promises, residents of the Grand Harbour area have continued to wait for any tangible improvement in their quality of life, the PN said.<\/p>\n

The PN said that it supports every project that genuinely improves the Grand Harbour area, “as demonstrated in practice when it was in government, but firmly believes that the Grand Harbour deserves a serious and transparent plan with a long-term vision, instead of promises that only surface before elections and disappear afterwards.” <\/p>\n

With regard to what the Government is currently proposing, the PN said that it will be consulting all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the proposed project – “provided it does not once again remain shelved as happened after it was promised before the last three elections – is carried out in the best interests of residents, stakeholders and the maritime sector, in a manner that benefits the country as a whole.”<\/p>\n
