Two people injured in separate traffic accidents<\/p>\n
A man and a woman were taken to Mater Dei Hospital after being injured in two separate traffic accidents on Monday.<\/p>\n
The first accident occurred at around 10:30am in Triq tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. Initial investigations found that a 50-year-old woman from Żabbar lost control of a vehicle, a Toyota Auris, and crashed into a wall. Also in the vehicle with her was a 28-year-old woman who resides in Safi.<\/p>\n
The second accident occurred at around 10:45am on Triq Burmarrad, Burmarrad. Preliminary investigations found that a collision had occurred between a Land Rover driven by a 66-year-old man residing in St Paul’s Bay and a Piaggio Vespa motorcycle ridden by a 33-year-old man residing in Swieqi.<\/p>\n
A medical team provided assistance at both incidents, and the motorcyclist as well as the 28-year-old passenger who was in the Toyota vehicle were taken to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. They were later certified as suffering from grievous injuries.<\/p>\n
Police investigations are still ongoing.<\/p>\n
