Updated: Massive industrial fire in Dingli extinguished<\/p>\n
A massive industrial fire in Dingli has been put out, the Civil Protection Department said. No injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n
When the fire broke out in a quarry containing rubbish including tyres early in the afternoon, the public was urged to avoid going to Dingli.<\/p>\n
“The public is kindly requested to avoid the area due to safety concerns and ongoing emergency response operations,” CPD said.<\/p>\n

Residents in nearby localities, including Dingli and Rabat, were advised to keep all doors and windows closed as a precaution due to smoke and fumes in the area.<\/p>\n

In another post later, the CPD said the fire had been put out with the use of 190,000 litres of water and 5,000 litres of foam.<\/p>\n
Thirty-four fire fighters were employed in the operation along with six senior fire officers. <\/p>\n
