PM visits a start-up that is creating limestone through 3D printing and recycled material<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the facilities of Ambitious in Birkirkara, a biotechnology start-up founded in 2022, which brings together biology, materials, and digital fabrication through sustainable production systems, the government said in a statement.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the Neolithic Futures project was presented. This project uses construction waste and other materials such as seashells to recreate limestone through 3D printing. For this project, the company Ambitious is collaborating with two local companies operating in different sectors: BilVen Ltd, which works in the construction sector, and Bacchus Restaurant, which operates in the food industry. This demonstrates how different sectors can work together to create sustainable solutions, the government said.<\/p>\n
“During the visit, the role of start-ups in Malta as a driver of innovation was emphasized, bringing together research, technology, and industry to create new opportunities. Through initiatives like these, the circular economy is being strengthened and a more sustainable future is being prepared,” government said.<\/p>\n
“This project is funded by Xjenza Malta through the FUSION: R&I Research Excellence Programme 2024 and is aligned with Malta Vision 2050, as it promotes digital transformation, more efficient use of resources, and innovative development based on our identity.” <\/p>\n
