St Andrew's power distribution centre expanded in \u20ac4 million investment<\/p>\n
A €4 million investment in the extension of the St Andrews distribution centre has been completed, according to a statement by the Energy Ministry. The project increases capacity and improves resilience to meet growing electricity demand in the area.<\/p>\n
The project was inaugurated during a site visit attended by Energy Minister Miriam Dall, Enemalta Executive Chairman Ryan Fava, and Pembroke mayor Kaylon Zammit. <\/p>\n
The works included the installation of a new 30MVA power transformer to boost network capacity. Moreover, the distribution centre was expanded to connect with both 33kV and 11 kV electricity networks. The substation’s control system was also upgraded to enable remote operation and continuous 24\/7 monitoring.<\/p>\n
“This investment has enhanced the flexibility and resilience of the network in the St Andrews and surrounding areas,” Fava said. <\/p>\n
The project forms part of a wider national effort to modernise Malta’s energy infrastructure under Enemalta’s nine-year plan. <\/p>\n
“We are investing in a number of new distribution centres, and we are upgrading existing infrastructure to ensure we can meet increasing demand while improving reliability and efficiency for consumers,” Dalli said. <\/p>\n
