7th edition of Mqabba 5K run to take place on 1 May<\/p>\n
The 7th edition of the Mqabba 5K Run in aid of ALS Malta+ once again confirms its commitment to a more inclusive community. This year it will feature a record number of athletes and will take place on 1 May<\/p>\n
The 7th edition of the Mqabba 5K Run in aid of ALS Malta+ will once again be organised by the Madonna tal-Ġilju Musical Society of Mqabba, with the aim not only of promoting an active lifestyle, but also of continuing to strengthen the values of solidarity and inclusivity.<\/p>\n
This annual activity includes a five-kilometre run, as well as a one-kilometre route dedicated exclusively to wheelchair users and persons with disabilities. This initiative continues to provide space for everyone to participate actively, regardless of their abilities.<\/p>\n
The main goal of this run is to raise funds for ALS Malta+, so that the organisation can continue offering essential services such as therapies and respite care to people affected by this condition.<\/p>\n
Last year, more than 700 athletes took part in the event. This year the target is to reach 900 athletes.<\/p>\n
To organise this activity, financial assistance was provided by the Ministry for Inclusion and Volunteering, which covers expenses related to the distribution of medals to participants.<\/p>\n
During the announcement of this activity, the Minister for Inclusion and Voluntary Sector, Julia Farrugia, explained that “it is very satisfying to see initiatives like this that not only encourage a healthy lifestyle, but above all promote inclusion. This event is a clear example of how a community can come together to support those most in need, while ensuring that no one is left behind,” the minister concluded.<\/p>\n
