{"id":83889,"date":"2026-04-13T13:43:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T11:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shopsofmalta.com\/malta\/malta-union-of-teachers-announces-industrial-actions-at-the-um-junior-college\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T13:43:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T11:43:00","slug":"malta-union-of-teachers-announces-industrial-actions-at-the-um-junior-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shopsofmalta.com\/malta\/malta-union-of-teachers-announces-industrial-actions-at-the-um-junior-college\/","title":{"rendered":"Malta Union of Teachers announces industrial actions at the UM Junior College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malta Union of Teachers announces industrial actions at the UM Junior College<\/p>\n<p>The MUT on Monday issued what it said was the first set of directives for lecturing grades at the UM Junior College.<\/p>\n<p>The directives follow the declaration of a trade dispute in November 2025 and the failure in reaching an agreement with the Government on a satisfactory updated collective agreement, which expired in December 2023, the MUT said.<\/p>\n<p>The MUT directed all UM Junior College lecturing grades to:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\" start=\"1\">\n<li>Refrain from      participating in committee meetings<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from      participating in boards including the Junior College board&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from      participating in departmental meetings<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from      carrying out any duties related to committees, boards or departments<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from      submitting attendance records<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from      submitting assessment results\/marks<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The directives come into force on Wednesday 15 April 2026.
