{"id":83892,"date":"2026-04-14T19:43:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T17:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shopsofmalta.com\/malta\/court-services-agency-employees-secure-new-collective-agreement\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T19:43:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T17:43:00","slug":"court-services-agency-employees-secure-new-collective-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shopsofmalta.com\/malta\/court-services-agency-employees-secure-new-collective-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Court Services Agency employees secure new collective agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Court Services Agency employees secure new collective agreement<\/p>\n<p>A new collective agreement for employees of the Court Services Agency was signed on Tuesday, with the government describing it as a key step in strengthening the justice sector and improving working conditions within the courts, a statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Describing it as the &#8220;best&#8221; agreement signed for employees of the Court Services Agency, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that this is another important step forward in the justice sector.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during an event marking the signing of the agreement at the Courts building in Valletta, the Prime Minister said that the agreement sends a clear message that workers who support the administration of justice &#8211; those who prepare daily operations, assist the judiciary, guide citizens, maintain order and manage records &#8211; must be respected, supported and valued.<\/p>\n<p>He said that this step comes at a time when Malta is continuing to modernise its justice services.<\/p>\n<p>Abela said that the government is increasing investment, strengthening human resources, improving infrastructure and accelerating digital transformation to make justice more efficient, transparent and accessible to all.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to Budget 2026, the Prime Minister spoke of the government&#8217;s commitment to providing the necessary tools to further strengthen the justice sector.<\/p>\n<p>He said that legislative reforms are ongoing, alongside greater court specialisation, including the Commercial Court and Family Court, as well as new sections such as a specialised magistracy focused on magisterial inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>This is in addition to the continued strengthening of the judiciary and related services, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Abela said that the government is also investing in court facilities, with more courtrooms, improved security and new buildings such as Palazzo Conte.<\/p>\n<p>Planning is ongoing for modern and accessible infrastructure, including in Gozo, alongside the introduction of new technology, improved connectivity and digital systems aimed at simplifying case management, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Abela said these efforts are contributing to more timely decisions, improved services and increased public trust.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the agreement is important in strengthening stability and professionalism, while also helping retain experience, attract new skills and recognise the growing responsibilities within a modern justice system.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the government, workers come first. They and their families are the foundation of our country,&#8221; Abela said.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Minister Jonathan Attard said that the agreement not only improves working conditions but also creates new roles, career structures and advancement opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>He said it sends a clear message that employees within the agency can grow, learn and progress.
