Two men arrested as police seize drugs in St Julians<\/p>\n
Two men have been taken into police custody following separate drug related incidents in St Julian’s over the past few days, the police said Saturday.<\/p>\n
The first arrest occurred on Thursday when officers conducting a routine patrol on St George’s Road noticed two suspicious individuals inside a vehicle. Upon stopping the car and performing a search, authorities discovered six sachets containing a substance suspected to be cocaine on one of the men. The suspect, a 34-year-old resident of Tarxien, was immediately arrested at the scene.<\/p>\n
A second incident took place on the same street the following day while police were patrolling the area. Officers were alerted by bystanders to alleged drug trafficking occurring within a local bar. Upon entering the establishment, police identified two men acting suspiciously.<\/p>\n
A search of one of the individuals yielded three sachets of suspected cocaine and nine sachets of suspected cannabis. The suspect, a 36 year old Somali national, was arrested on the spot.<\/p>\n
Investigations into both cases are ongoing.<\/p>\n
