\u2018The whole manifesto must be implemented,\u2019 Abela says in first Cabinet meeting<\/p>\n
The Cabinet of Malta held its first meeting of this legislature on Tuesday morning, in which Prime Minister Abela told its members that they must work to implement the entire Labour Party electoral manifesto over the coming five years.<\/p>\n
In the opening Cabinet meeting for this fifteenth legislature, the Prime Minister said that it has “the most ambitious mandate that a political movement has ever had to implement” ahead of it and stressed for them to work “so that everything we pledged will be implemented.”<\/p>\n
“The whole manifesto must be implemented,” the Prime Minister said, “We have the skills and determination to implement it.”<\/p>\n
He told his Cabinet that in order to implement its 1,067 proposals, they must see that those around them are always pushed to be on the ball and continue to be tenacious in their work.<\/p>\n
Abela added that it is crucial that they all remain grounded with the people as they did throughout this past general election campaign and in previous months.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said that the electorate chose three credentials in the general election ten days ago: competence, credibility, and experience. <\/p>\n
He reminded them that their collective mission, as promised in the Labour Party’s Int Malta<\/i> manifesto, is to make people’s lives easier, nicer, and better. <\/p>\n
Abela noted that through this first meeting today, the Cabinet begin implementing its electoral promises.<\/p>\n
Abela appointed a Cabinet of 21 ministers and two Parliamentary Secretaries last week.<\/p>\n
