Wied iż-Żrinġ proposed for ODZ protection by Planning Authority<\/p>\n
The Planning Authority said Friday it has published a Partial Review of the Strategic Plan for Environment and Development (SPED) 2015 concerning an area of land at Bulebel, Żejtun, Wied iż-Żrinġ, following instructions received from Government in accordance with Article 44(2) of the Development Planning Act (Cap. 552).<\/p>\n
The objective of this partial review is to exclude the identified land at Bulebel from the Industrial Development Zone and redesignating it as land Outside the Development Zone (ODZ).<\/p>\n
The review is being undertaken in recognition of the area’s high agricultural, ecological and cultural value, the PA said. The proposed changes seek to ensure the long-term protection of the site by removing it from the Industrial Development Zone and safeguarding it from incompatible uses and other potential adverse impacts.<\/p>\n
As part of the review process, amendments are being proposed to the current designations contained in Maps 2A and 2B of the Strategic Plan for Environment and Development (SPED) 2015.<\/p>\n
The Planning Authority encouraged all interested parties to review the proposals and submit their feedback during the consultation window. More details about the consultation may be viewed on www.pa.org.mt\/consultation. Submissions must reach the Authority no later than 3rd July 2026<\/p>\n
