Two men greviously injured in multi-vehicle Coast Road accident<\/p>\n
Two men were hospitalised with grievous injuries following a series of traffic accidents on the Coast Road, limits of Naxxar, this morning.<\/p>\n
Police said they were called to the scene at approximately 7.15 am after a 41-year-old man from Għaxaq lost control of his Subaru Impreza, which crashed into a wall and came to a stop in the middle of the carriageway.<\/p>\n
The stationary vehicle caused a traffic obstruction, forcing other motorists to stop. In an attempt to avoid the halted traffic, a 36-year-old man riding a Suzuki motorcycle lost control and collided with crash barriers, sustaining injuries.<\/p>\n
Simultaneously, a chain-reaction collision involving five vehicles occurred at the same location. The vehicles involved included an Isuzu van, a Mazda 2, a Toyota Passo, a Toyota Vitz, and a Porsche. The driver of the Toyota Vitz, a 29-year-old resident of St Paul’s Bay, also sustained injuries.<\/p>\n
A medical team provided assistance on-site, and both the motorcyclist and the driver of the Vitz were transported by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where they were later certified as having suffered grievous injuries.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Subaru was unharmed.<\/p>\n
Police investigations into the incidents are ongoing.<\/p>\n
